Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers - Gift of Hope Midlevel Appeal

Maryknoll Gift of Hope Midlevel Appeal

  • At Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, we are blessed with missioners who have dedicated themselves to carry out God's work by serving those in need overseas. This series asks our most loyal donors to take their commitment one step further by making a "Gift of Hope” that will provide missioners with the vital resources needed to help live the message of Jesus by serving the least of our brothers and sisters overseas. Compassionate missioners all over the world and bringing peace to the dying are helping care for the children who have been orphaned by AIDS. Their own hearts are filled with gratitude knowing they can help ease the burden of the dying parents and give back life to a new generation.
  • This campaign series included three highly-personalized contacts designed to deepen the relationship between Maryknoll and their most loyal friends, upgrade those long-standing loyal givers to major gift prospects, and renew donors who upgraded to the 2007 campaign.
  • The primary creative goal in this program is to achieve a tone of intimacy that affirms the donor’s special relationship with Maryknoll. The success of this program relies much more on the strength of the “friendship” than it does on the urgency of the appeal, so the packages cater heavily to the donor’s self-image as Maryknoll’s most important “best friend."
  • This campaign mailed right as the economy was crashing last autumn. With so much unknown at the time we expected a drop in both the response rate and average gift. The reductions in both of these were not as damaging as we anticipated. Loyal Maryknoll donors came through with their special "Gifts of Hope." The appeal generated $817,222 with an average gift of $111.92.
  • The Midlevel Series cultivated a larger-than-normal gift. The average gift for the series was $111.92, which is $93.45 higher than the overall average gift to regular appeals.
