- The Salesian Missions wanted to cultivate a deeper relationship with all of their important donors, regardless of whether they make a gift to this campaign. They wanted to allow some of their most loyal, longstanding donors to self-identify as large-gift donors by making an extraordinary contribution.
- In order to accomplish this, they asked the donor to make an inspired, larger-than-usual gift to help the Salesians transform the lives of poor, young children in Cambodia and wherever God needs them to do His work.
- No donor was made to feel inadequate or underappreciated if they couldn't respond at that time. But there was a slight sense of urgency created in the first touch that explains why now is the right time to help.
- The Mid Level Series cultivated a larger-than-normal gift. The average gift for the series was $64.25. The overall average gift to the entire population of longstanding donors in 2009 was $16.96.
